Stan Stanart was elected Harris County Clerk on November 2, 2010 and reelected in November 2014 to a second 4 year term. In 2018 due to the over $15 Million spent by the Beto campaign, he and every countywide Republican lost their election.
For over 30 years, Stan Stanart has lived in Texas House District 126. He has served as a Republican Precinct Chair, as President of the Conservative Cherry Tree Republicans for three terms, and as the elected Harris County Clerk and Chief Election Official. For over two and half years, he has volunteered as Harris County Republican Party Vice Chair for Election Integrity and Chairman of the Ballot Security Committee, devoting countless hours to collaborating with election integrity leaders at the state and national levels.
Stan has devoted his professional career to engineering and community service, working to secure a better future for our children and grandchildren. Born, raised, and educated in Oklahoma, he earned a B.S. in Electronics Engineering from Oklahoma State University before moving to Texas. His career includes roles in the aerospace industry, the Central Test Facility for the International Space Station, and managing technical teams at Compaq Computer in desktop and laptop product development.
Before serving as Harris County Clerk, Stan was hired by then-Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar Paul Bettencourt as Associate Director of Computer Hardware Technology.
Stan applied his technical expertise to bring innovation and substantial efficiencies to the County Clerk’s Office. He modernized IT systems by migrating from mainframes to contemporary platforms, redesigned the marriage license, significantly enhanced election systems, and led the development of Harris County’s Electronic Poll Book.
A dedicated member of the Texas Republican Party for over 35 years, Stan has attended every Republican State Convention as a delegate since 1988. He served as a delegate to the Republican National Conventions in 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024, and as a Presidential Elector in the 2000 Electoral College.
Stan Stanart has a proven record as a strong conservative Republican.
