Stan Stanart was elected Harris County Clerk on November 2, 2010 and reelected in November 2014 to a second 4 year term. In 2018 due to the over $15 Million spent by the Beto campaign, he and every countywide Republican lost their election.
For 29 years Stan has resided in Texas House District 126. He has served as a Republican Precinct Chair, President of the Christian Conservative Cherry Tree Republicans for 3 terms, and been your Elected Harris County Clerk and Chief Election Official. For the last 2+ years Stan has volunteered as the Harris County Republican Party Vice Chair for Election Integrity and Chairman of the Ballot Security Committee. He spends many hours working with Election Integrity Leaders at the National and State level.
Stan has spent most of his professional career as an Engineer and being involved in the community to ensure a better future for our children and grandchildren. He was born, raised and educated in Oklahoma, but after graduating from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Electronic Engineering, Stan quickly moved to Texas. He has worked in the aerospace industry, the Central Test Facility for the International Space Station, and managed technical teams at Compaq Computer in Desktop and Laptop product development.
Before serving as your County Clerk, Stan was hired by the Harris County Tax Assessor/Collector & Voter Registrar Paul Bettencourt as the Associate Director of Hardware Technology for the Harris County Tax Office Stan has used his technical skills and knowledge to bring innovation and many new efficiencies to the County Clerk’s Office. While there he moved the IT systems from mainframes to modern computer systems. He redesigned the marriage license, significantly improved our election systems and lead the design of the Elections Electronic Poll Book used by Harris County.
Stan has been active in the Texas Republican Party for over 35 years, having attending every Republican State Convention as a Delegate since 1988. He has been a Delegate to the 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024 Republican National Conventions and was a member of the 2000 Electoral College as a Presidential Elector.
Stan has a strong proven record as a conservative Republican.
